6 Clean Water & Sanitation
The leather industry consumes and processes large amounts of water, that's why we believe that it's important to ensure best practices in treatment by promoting water-use efficiency. We want to make sure that leather manufacturers are able to implement chemical management systems, which will in turn reduce water contamination.
12 Responsible Production & Consumption
Through the alliance, we work alongside manufacturers, chemical suppliers, brands and retailers. With influence throughout the leather supply chain, we hope to encourage the efficient management of chemicals, especially chromium. By promoting the chrome-free alternatives, we hope to support creating a more responsible end of life for leather.
